General Info

Afest is a Pan-African festival that celebrates African culture, music, fashion, film, and cuisine. The festival features a range of events and activities, including music performances, film screenings, fashion exhibitions, and culinary showcases.

The first edition of Afest is scheduled to take place in Dakar, Senegal in February 2025.

Afest is open to attendees of all ages, however some events or activities may have age restrictions. Please check the event details for more information.

There are a variety of accommodations available in Dakar, ranging from budget-friendly options to luxury hotels. We recommend booking accommodations early to ensure availability.

Yes, we are always looking for volunteers to help with various tasks throughout the festival. Please check our website for more information on how to become a volunteer.

Food & Beverage

Yes, there will be a variety of food and drink vendors at the festival serving up delicious cuisine from across the African continent and beyond.

Outside food and drinks are not allowed inside the festival grounds. However, we encourage you to come hungry and try the delicious food and drinks available from our vendors!

Our food vendors will offer a variety of traditional African cuisine, as well as international cuisine inspired by African flavors and ingredients.

Yes, our food vendors will offer a variety of dietary options to accommodate all festival-goers.

Alcoholic beverages are not allowed to be brought into the festival grounds. However, there will be a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drink options available for purchase from our vendors.

Most of our food and drink vendors will accept both cash and card payments. However, we recommend bringing cash to ensure a smoother and quicker transaction. ATMs will also be available on site.

FAQ

Rules & Safety

The safety and security of our attendees is our top priority. We work closely with local law enforcement and security personnel to provide a safe and secure environment. We also have medical personnel on site in case of emergencies.

Yes, prohibited items include weapons, illegal drugs, outside food and drinks (except for medical reasons), professional photography and videography equipment (without prior authorization), and any other items that may pose a safety risk to attendees.

No, pets are not allowed inside the festival grounds, except for service animals.

Smoking is not allowed in enclosed spaces or near areas where food is being served. There will be designated smoking areas at the festival.

Please notify a staff member or security personnel immediately if you require medical assistance. There will be medical personnel on-site to assist you.

Please report any rule violations or suspicious behavior to festival security or staff members. We take all reports seriously and will take appropriate action to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all attendees.
